Math Calculator FAQs
How do I calculate a percentage of a number?
Multiply the number by the percentage written as a decimal. For example, 20% of 150 = 150 Γ 0.20 = 30. To find what percent one number is of another, divide and multiply by 100: 30 Γ· 150 Γ 100 = 20%.
How is GPA calculated?
Multiply each course grade point by its credit hours, add those products, then divide by the total credit hours. On a 4.0 scale, A = 4, B = 3, C = 2, D = 1, F = 0. Our GPA calculator handles weighted and unweighted scales.
What is the difference between mean, median and mode?
The mean is the average (sum Γ· count). The median is the middle value when numbers are sorted. The mode is the value that appears most often. They can differ a lot in skewed data sets.
