Math Calculator FAQs

How do I calculate a percentage of a number?

Multiply the number by the percentage written as a decimal. For example, 20% of 150 = 150 Γ— 0.20 = 30. To find what percent one number is of another, divide and multiply by 100: 30 Γ· 150 Γ— 100 = 20%.

How is GPA calculated?

Multiply each course grade point by its credit hours, add those products, then divide by the total credit hours. On a 4.0 scale, A = 4, B = 3, C = 2, D = 1, F = 0. Our GPA calculator handles weighted and unweighted scales.

What is the difference between mean, median and mode?

The mean is the average (sum Γ· count). The median is the middle value when numbers are sorted. The mode is the value that appears most often. They can differ a lot in skewed data sets.

Can I use these calculators for homework and exams?

Yes β€” they show the result and, where relevant, the steps, so they are useful for checking homework and understanding the method. Confirm your school allows calculators for graded exams.

Are these math calculators free and private?

Yes. Every tool is free, needs no sign-up, and runs in your browser, so nothing you enter is sent to a server or stored.
