GIF Resizer β Resize GIF Online
Resize a GIF to exact width and height. Output as PNG (preserves transparency) or JPG. Works on the first frame β animation is removed.
Why resize a GIF?
Resizing GIFs that you'll keep as static images is straightforward β this tool handles it the same way as the PNG / JPG resizers. The catch is animation: standard browser tools can't easily re-encode multi-frame animated GIFs, so this resizer extracts the first frame and outputs a static image. For full animation preservation, the better path is to convert to MP4 / WebM, resize that, and re-export.
Output format
Pick PNG when you need to preserve transparency, or JPG when smaller file size matters more than transparency or colour fidelity.
Common GIF resize scenarios
- Shrinking a screenshot-GIF for inclusion in a smaller layout.
- Generating a static thumbnail at a specific size for video posters.
- Extracting an icon-sized version of a graphic stored as GIF.
- Producing apple-touch-icon (180Γ180) from a GIF.
